K The Delta State Government has signed a ₦78 billion contract agreement with Julius Berger Nigeria Plc for the construction of three flyover bridges, a cloverleaf interchange, pedestrian bridges, and the expansion of roads in Warri and its environs. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who signed the contract on behalf of the state government, expressed his confidence in Julius Berger’s ability to deliver on schedule, citing their exceptional track record in road construction in Nigeria. Oborevwori said that the decision to choose Julius Berger was based not only on their reputation but also on their expertise in constructing roads in riverine terrains, as evident from their successful projects in other states with similar topography to Warri. Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, expressed his administration's strong commitment to urban-rural integration through the development of essential road infrastructure and urban renewal.  In his speech during the nation's Independence Day anniversary, he paid homage to the founding fathers and acknowledged the dedication of past and present leaders.  Governor Oborevwori highlighted the completion of ongoing projects inherited from the previous administration and the initiation of new projects aligned with the M.O.R.E Agenda.  He emphasized the importance of healthcare, education, and maintaining peace in the state. The event also included prayers for the country, state, and government.

Home Entertainment N1 million up for grabs as 5 contestants qualify for grand finale of DBS Song of the Year Season Fou r  Five contestants have qualified for the grand finale of DBS Song of the Year season four from the ten contestants who participated in the semi-final of the music talent hunt competition. The music talent hunt competition organised by Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, is powered by the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) and supported by ND Western. The semi-final encounter which took place at Lascurt Hotels, Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area, could be likened to the clash of the Titans, but in the end, Useoghene Kuru, Sonia Grey, Dorlyn Evison, Omamuzo Blessing and Augusta Tekevwe made the list of the five qualified contestants for the grand finale. NEWSDecember deadline: Portharcourt, Warri refineries under pressurePublished on October 2, 2023By Ogaga Ariemu As the December deadline to resume full petrol production draws near, the managing director of Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited (PHRC) Engr Ibrahim Onoja and the acting managing director of Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC), Mrs Usua Ofonmbuk Edet are currently under pressure to deliver. The federal government had said the December deadline for Port Harcourt and Warri refineries to resume operations remained unchanged. DAILY POST recalls that the federal government had hinted that the two plants would kick-start operations in December by locally refining 160 barrels of crude oil daily. According to the projection, the Warri refinery would produce 100 barrels per day by December; the Port Harcourt refinery would make an initial contribution of 60 bpd during the same period.
